"Texas Twister" by Little Feat

This is from the album that brought me to Little Feat. Just hearing this lead track from "Representing The Mambo" in 1990 had me rushing to check the box on my Columbia House Record Club order form.

This is from the second true iteration of the band after lead singer / songwriter Lowell George disbanded the group because of "differences of musical direction". George announced plans to put together a new version of Little Feat without the others. Soon after in 1979 George collapsed and died in his hotel room in Arlington, Virginia from a heart attack.

Upon his death the band reformed with Craig Fuller (nee New Riders of the Purple Sage) replacing Lowell Gorge and did what I consider some of their very best work, even though Warner Brothers dropped the band because of this album's "jazz leanings".
