My kids did good with UIL. I gave my eldest daughter $20 for getting the clarinette open down.

I learned this when I was a kid. Probably 12 or 13 years old.
Played it as my prepared piece in a jazz piano competition a couple years later.
I did ok but it was my first competition so a but of nerves, and there were older kids competing. I got smoked!
