Upon release of this song in early 1973 their manager went to Jann Wenner and pointed out it was a free radio ad. He promptly sent Cameron Crowe to do an interview and put them on the cover.
Notice however, he didn't include their name on the March 1973 cover, referring to the as "What's their name".:
