Roundabout
I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out and out
I spend the day your way
Call it morning driving through the sound in and out the valley
The music dance and sing
They make the children really ring
I spend the day your way
Call it morning driving through the sound in and out the valley
In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you
I will remember you
Your silhouette will charge the view
Of distance atmosphere
Call it morning driving through the sound even in the valley
In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you
Along the drifting cloud the eagle searching down on the land
Catching the swirling wind the sailor sees the rim of the land
The eagle's dancing wings create as weather spins out of hand
Go closer hold the land feel partly no more than grains of sand
We stand to lose all time a thousand answers by in our hand
Next to your deeper fears we stand surrounded by a million years
I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out and out
I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out and out
In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
Twenty four before my love and I'll be there
I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out and out
You spend the day your way
Call it morning driving thru the sound and even in the valley
In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

(7,582 posts)Theater in the round in Madison Square Garden, in the rain in Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, Boston, Philly, DC, you name it.
We would hitchhike to concerts. Beg and borrow to buy tickets. Yes tours were an obsession.
They are the greatest rock band in history, hands down. The talent level by each member was unsurpassed.
My new hobby of trying to learn the keyboard was inspired by Rick Wakeman.
While Roundabout was perhps their most widely known commercial hit, their repertoire was far more than just that.
"Tales from Topographic Oceans" was incredible.
"Close to the Edge" inspired me to reproduce the album cover on an entire wall in my bedroom!!
The 2 album live "Yessongs" is an iconic record that I still listen to today. Their live work brings back many fond memories.
Thanks for sharing. As my best buddy in high shcool, Kenny Mac, would say (as we were tripping on windowpane) ..
YES IS THE BEST!!!!!

(77,179 posts)...the original Yessongs double LP.
I was fond of live albums because I wanted to know if the bands could sound live like they sounded in the studio.
Had lots of live albums.
Yessongs not only proves they could do it, but the live situation added more energy, & the need for volume which makes Howe's guitar growl more.
I've been willing to listen to a live version of this tune for over 50 years.
