We started with the Peter Gunn theme & broke into the song.
We rotated the lead vocal line by line, and did a call a response harmony thing in the chorus.
In the middle we changed gears, and I did a jazz piano solo.
We won nearly everything that year. Best drummer, beat guitarist, best bassist, best keyboard & the band won.
$2,400 for 3 songs. Pretty lucrative 15 minutes.
We didn't get the best vocal, but I sang one song, the guitar player another, and everybody sang on the 3rd. No way for the judges to know who the main singer actually was!
