Has anybody here seen my friend Bobby? Along with Abraham, Martin, and John?

58 years ago today and I was just a kid but it still hurts. We lost Bobby and got Nixon.

Somewhere I read a post or article that said that when Bobby was killed the dream of America that could be, died. We were then blessed/cursed with Nixon, Reagan, Bush I and II, and the ultimate piece of shit Trump.

Where would the nation be - if Bobby had survived - I always thought that he was the best of us.

What we ended up with, are the worse of us.

4. The last republican who was elected without cheating or was the legacy of cheating was Dwight E. ...

….. in 1956. Gerald Ford* was a decent man but he was never elected and poisoned America by
pardoning Nixon. In 1968 LBJ had a peace deal set up with Vietnam but Nixon had that deal
stopped and the war went on for another 4 1/4 years and in January of ‘73 the exact same deal
that LBJ had done in ‘68. He should have been held accountable for that alone.

This nation is in a dark place right now. Republicans own the electoral processes so even though
they are the minority they keep winning. Musk and Thiel’s fingerprints are all over the ‘24 election.

* When he was President his golden retriever took a dump in the Oval Office and as other people

Thanks for remembering this date with Dion's rendition of Abraham, Martin & John which included Bobby at the end. Our country has had turning points in its 250 years, but that decade alone stands out to me. And it was exactly at that moment, the day Bobby Kennedy died, that the fix was in. Bobby would have been our next President instead of Nixon. I remember it all well, being a young adult at that time. As for Dion, he was one of my favorite artisis.
