coincidently, I attended that fair in '65 (wee laddie of 5). very memorable, FWIW

6. We are about the same age but I didn't see it until the 70s.

Trips from JFK to Manhattan took you by the grounds, the world sphere was still up.

7. yep, the world sphere was pretty much all that was left

beyond the park-like setting. to a little kid, it was all larger than life. just like going to Shea and seeing Willie Mays. the Beatles playing Shea was freakin' huge too. good times

we moved back to the Chicago burbs in spring '69, so I missed out on the amazing Mets. oh well
