Last night, June 12, 2024, my husband and I celebrated our 59th Wedding Anniversary! Here's a few photos:

I'm not sure how much longer we have to go--we are both in our 80's now! Omigod!
We're having fun, no matter how long we last.
Stay amazed and living the next day wondering, "what am I going to learn today, that I never knew?"
The food was very delicious as well as filling!
We had a great time.
It's been a great marriage; neither of us can imagine being married to anyone else! We do work at it.

I was 21 and Lionel was 25, about to turn 26 exactly a week later.

And congratulations on celebrating your 40th! That many years takes serious dedication, respect and mutual desire.
I suspect that there will be more anniversary photos about a year from now. 
Of course, there will be other kinds of photos in the meantime!
So far, so good! Like any married couple, we've had our disagreements, but we get over them and go on.
Hey, the rose petals were the restaurant's idea, not ours! I think high end restaurants do stuff like that.

We don't know how long we'll have . . . but we're making the most of the time we have.
I firmly believe in sharing! There will be many more photos.
There must be so many wonderful memories in those 59 years. 
We have a lot of great memories, and a few not so great! Such is the way of marriage.
We are very happy being married to each other and cannot imagine being married to anyone else.
It's a grand feeling!

The restaurant is just gorgeous! The food was perfect as well. Our server was attentive but never bothered us!
And yes, we did have fish. My husband had the Alaskan Halibut and I had the Petrale Sole. We shared potatoes au gratin! 
There was so much food that we took some of it home!
Marriages take work and we have done that, over the decades. The effort has paid off!
We are hoping for many more such occasions!

We've held up pretty well!
And the food was superb! I ate too much. But we still had some to take home!
It was about as perfect as any dinner could be. We had a blast!
Luckily, we both have young faces so our elder status sits lightly upon us!
