(152,048 posts)I'm lovin' the colors as well as the composition!
The perfect fall photo.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
I hate to see such a beautiful photo languish without any comments. Recs are great, of course, but comments get inside what's meaningful to the viewer.

This photo always was one of my favorites. I took it just as I saw it, the leaves fell just the perfect way. I thought Id dig it out again since its the appropriate time of the year.

(13,727 posts)Whats the background on which the leaves are resting? That makes all the difference.

(34,593 posts)We have a stone bench in our backyard and next to it is a Japanese maple tree, the colorful leaves fell just right one afternoon and it caught my eye.

(2,529 posts)I love the colors. Prussian blue is my very favorite color and it always makes reds and yellows pop out. As does the cobalt blue in there too.

(34,593 posts)The blue cast to the stone bench was sort of an accident, my husband was painting something out there and spilled blue paint on it. 😩. I tried to wipe it up best I could, but some of the color got soaked in. After a few winters it kind of got weathered looking. The red and yellow really did pop against the background though.

(153 posts)I love it when a photograph looks like an oil painting and you have to really stare at it to see it is a photo.
This is just such a rich tapestry.
I was reading once about how several of the Impressionist artists in France would go out painting together and paint paintings of the same scene. You know, imagine Monet and Matisse on a little country jaunt and both painting the same hay stack.
Occasionally, the lucky museum goer, will stumble upon a show where they have rounded up two of these paintings and you can see them together and it is always magic.
Diamond Dog... I look at this picture of yours and all I can think is you and Vincent Van Gogh went out together into the night to make art, but you stood under a maple tree and he was down a bit under one of those skinny Cyprus trees.
So beautiful.

(34,593 posts)To even think about my image reminding you of Van Gogh and the Impressionists! Thats a pretty mind blowing compliment! That genre is my favorite and always has been.
Even to imagine going out to the countryside to paint along with any of them would be an artists dream!
Thank you so much! Im glad you enjoyed this. Its one of my favorite Fall photos from my archive.

I don't want to know how you produced this sublime work of art. The proof's in the pudding. It's outstanding and unforgettable.
This would have been a winning entry for the photo contest!
My sincere thanks for your posting this beauty.
