(6,409 posts)I've been watching its phases for the past four autumns. We're past peak color here in southeastern PA, but there are holdouts. There's a huge gingko a few blocks from here that still has some green leaves. I'm waiting to shoot the pile of gold beneath the tree when it finally drops its leaves.

(87,193 posts)Now, the trees are bare, but the blankets of leaves on the ground everywhere mean lots of nutrients slowly working their way into the soil. Yeah, much of it will be washed away by the rain, but NOT ALL!!!
Makes me think a seriously gorgeous spring will eventually result.

(4,758 posts)Thanks to you, Mousetoescamper! My friend, an older widow, gardener, retired schoolteacher and total do-gooder from my hometown, is really pleased to think she will see it again. I am delighted to make her happy and to have her company. We havent worked out the details yet, but its a very pleasant trip to look forward to. Thank you for inspiring me with your amazing photography.

(6,409 posts)She'll be surprised and probably pleased to see the results of the "Reimagined" project. I'm visiting on December 5 to see the annual Christmas displays. The photos of the new greenhouses with holiday lighting are gorgeous.
Thanks and you're welcome!
