(153,353 posts)I'm thinking that these bits of glass were found on the beach, having been eroded by the wave action as they were ground into the sand.
Am I close?
However they arrived, they are lovely. And in the glass container with the table positioned perfectly beneath, all is perfect.

(36,463 posts)Gosh - you wrote such a beautiful description of this photo, so I hate to burst your bubble somewhat
..
I saw this container of sea glass in the gift shop wing of a farmers market, probably a couple years ago, and I thought the glass pieces were cool looking, so I bought it! I had no purpose in mind for them whatsoever.
This morning I was doing a tracing on my new light pad and saw the container of sea glass along with all the other junk and doodads sitting on the shelves near my art table, and wondered what theyd look like on top of the light pad. So this was the result!
Alas, I did not go on a beach vacation to find them
.. Someone else did it for me!

(153,353 posts)My bubble wasn't burst at all! And please forgive my very tardy reply! I meant to answer your reply hours ago, and my day got away from me.
I think what you did, from buying the sea glass and its container, and then placing them on your light pad, was a genius move!
You are a genuine artist and it shows. Thank you for sharing it.

(36,463 posts)Thank you for always sending me compliments. And I did not expect a quick reply yesterday either; I know how a busy day can keep us away and occupied for hours and hours.
I used to buy little things that caught my eye but I dont do it as much anymore. I have enough doodads to open up my own store! Another object I used to love was alabaster eggs. I have a basket full of many different colors. Im always attracted to beautiful colorful stones, I guess! I think thats why I love those little artistic bas-relief sculptures you often photograph outside your farmers market.

(15,098 posts)beaches of Lake Michigan or Lake Superior picking up sea glass. And once in a great while we'd get a piece of pottery, which was always a bonus.
Nice photo which has brought back some fond memories.
