Dawn on Labor Day 2024 (September 2)

Last edited Sat Feb 15, 2025, 06:45 PM - Edit history (1)

I had just fallen in the rocks to the front of the truck, and I was busted up pretty badly. But the show must go on, so I shot with two cameras and a drone for about 45 minutes. Then I got into the truck and drove myself to the closest ER, in St. Maries, Idaho, which was 94 miles away. Got patched up and they put eight stiches in my upper lip .. then I got back in the truck and drove myself the 94 miles back out to the wilderness lookout.

The layers of color, with the dazzling fire lookout above, make this a photo for the ages! It's just so perfect.

Be careful out there! Even though your photos are soooo important, you are waaaay more important!
