Meet Bernie's Mittens

Last edited Sun Aug 31, 2025, 02:14 PM - Edit history (2)

This male tan jumping spider (Platycryptus undatus) reminds me of the Bernie Sanders Mittens meme. While the genus is stuck with the bland tan appellation, I'm naming this particular spider Bernie's Mittens. He was a very cooperative subject!

They are. Close-up photography favors them; their appealing faces don't set off the spider! alarms Mousetoescamper Wednesday #9

You have a gift, Mousetoescamper, for presenting living things as they really are, absent human fear and prejudice. "Bernie's Mittens" is perfect.

Thanks. Mostly, I'm interested in my fellow Earthlings and enjoy exploring my immediate world with a camera at hand.
