and came across the raw metadata file info which contains the approximate focus distant, something I did not know was recorded. This photo was with a 1200mm lens at 133 ft!

aux:ApproximateFocusDistance>133/10

Clear detail on the bird and nice bokeh to compliment the bird!

Ngl, black headed vultures creep me out. There's just something about them.... I love this shot, though. The details are really crisp and clear, and I like the way the bird seems to be looking over its shoulder at the camera (although I know that's probably an illusion)

I've never seen one in the wild (they don't come this far north), which is fine with me. But a friend of mine who lives in Arkansas had a couple who liked to perch on the roof of her house. They hung around so much that she and her husband gave them names (Heckle and Jeckle, after the cartoon magpies)! She hasn't mentioned them lately, so I don't know if they're still coming around, but they were a fixture for a while there.

We have loads of turkey vultures here in northern Illinois, and I don't find those creepy at all. If anything, I think their lumpy red faces look kind of comical, unlike their black headed cousins!

the crew was taking care of something in my neighbor's yard and this guy was sitting on my fence watching. not sure if he was a guard bird or just waiting for his turn, but some others were on the neighbors roof also

From what my friend told me, they do seem to like to keep an eye on things.
