Herreninsel, Chiemsee,

South east of Munich

A friend is visiting for a couple of days. We had sun, first time in a week. So a short ride to Lake Chiemsee. Didn't go into the new castle built by Ludwig II and inspired by Versailles. Dead calm water for the ferry ride and time for a nice stroll and lunch.

St. Mary's, decommissioned, 1400's construction, remodeled 1630 to gothic.

Got out from lunch and wanted to see the building. And the light was late and low.
Got lucky with my timing on that.

Pixel pro8, I think. Shot at 1.3 to 1.5 magnification.

Fun fact. I have the Pixel because my wife got one. She wanted us to have the same phone so we could help each other with use issues. How do you do this or that, where is the x menu.....
Same phones 6 months apart have different software versions. Go figure. And they update differently also.

about the light. Like your caption on the fountain — love the image! Strikes me as one most people might glance at and go on, but you saw something unusual and I'm glad you let us in on it. Great job!

Most get covered up around here in the winter. Freezing protection, and normally drained. I hadn't seen these covered before. Most have wood coverings in Munich.

Curious, I dragged your photo onto Google Images. Here's what came up:

Yours was the first visual image shown. I clicked on the covered fountain and your entire Herreninsel, Chiemsee, post came up.

Good work!
