Never used to be that way. Come to think of it, how I saw my grampa's life after seventy, is nowhere near how I see my own.

If that's sort of what you mean.

Thanks

Spending my evenings in a rocking chair
I'm not complaining sometimes life has other plans. Just grateful that I'm healthy enough to deal with it all.

I do enjoy your beautiful sunsets.

I appreciate that. Our house is at the top of a hill, back porch facing west. Looking out at eye-level treetops. It's a very nice setup for sundown skies.

May I ask why your chose your username?

I first joined du in 2008 and lost my account when du went down. I continued reading but didn't sign back up. Didn't think I had much to add to the conversation.

I decided to join back up in 2023. My previous user name didn't fit. So much had changed in my life and I just turned 70.
I found myself once again being the caregiver for my child due to his cancer diagnosis.
Not how I envisioned my retirement. I'm grateful for being able to be there for my son and every extra day I have him in my life.

So there it is my life after 70.

to be a time for "me". Self-reflection, satisfying pursuits, personal freedom. It's become something different for you. The gratitude you have for you son is deep within. He is fortunate to have you.

I joined DU five years ago, mostly for the Photography forum. Since then I've realized a caring community. I'm glad to be acquainted with you.

That was the reason I re-joined.
Duers in the cancer support group have gotten me through some difficult times.

Nice meeting you too. I look forward to your pics.

Edited to add McGovern was my first vote. I was 20 and they had just lowered the voting age.

Mondays are KC and Shadow (our cat and dog)
Wednesdays are Sunrises/Sunsets
Fridays are Horses and Around The Farm

Prior to moving here to Spokane County WA, my wife and I raised Paint horse babies and then boarded retired horses for 23 years altogether. The second category follows our lives at this new farm.

Shadow looks a lot like my sister dog tipper.
I was in Seattle many times over the last five years. My son was living in aberdeen while being treated at Fred Hutch.
My husband and I moved him back to Reno so he can e closer to his children. It's only a two hour drive from our home in California. His oldest and I take turns staying with him.
My sis is the country girl with 17 acres plus dogs and goats. I'm the city girl with a couple of dogs and cats. Four generations living under our roof my ggson is a hoot. He keeps us laughing. Walking distance to anything I need including to where hubby works.
I will look forward to your pics thanks for the chat. You and your wife have a lovely sunset on your farm

This procession of beautiful images makes me happy. The last one will be my screen saver for the next while. Your photos provide beauty over and over. I'm choosing the red one because it matches my spirits about the war "we" started.
