1. 'Kinda hated the last season but the first five were really great!'

7. I love the show. I remember watching the re runs on A&E in the afternoons.

That was when A&E was a good channel.

2. I remember seeing Janine Turner for the first time on "Northern Exposure",

and thinking "God-DAMN! She's gorgeous!"

Then I read an actor bio of her, and thought "God-DAMN! She's crazy!"

8. Yeah she is a bit looney.

The more I watch NE I think the same about her character. But don’t remember thinking of her that way back when show first came out in early 90’s.

3. Is it the original cut, or with much of the music stripped-out or replaced?

When they tried to convert to digital, apparently a lot of the copyright holders wouldn't sign or held out for more or the legal fees weren't worth it or something along those lines.

9. A couple of years after the show ended, I lost my job, and was unemployed for about four months.

Even with unemployment insurance benefits, and some under-the-table side gigs for extra money, it was still a difficult, stressful time. But I'd come home after a frustrating day of job-hunting, flip on the TV, and watch a few reruns of the show, and it would make everything a little better, and give me the oomph to get out of bed the next day and keep going.
