The campaign to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom has yet to gain traction among Democrats in the state, according to a new poll.
The poll, which was conducted by the Public Policy Institute of California, found that just 11 percent of Democrats in the state said that they would vote to recall Newsom if the special recall election was held today, compared with 86 percent that said they would vote to keep him.
Among other political party affiliations, the poll found 78 percent of Republicans and 47 percent of independents saying they'd vote to recall Newsom.
Overall, 40 percent of likely voters in the state said they'd vote to recall Newsom if the election was held today, while 57 percent said the opposite.

(7,608 posts)Why - what - who - has issue with Newsom? Is it just Republicans going in their usual nutty blame game? Or real topics of disagreement?

(9,696 posts)They got lucky doing this once and to them it's a winning strategy. It cost them a lot of money and cost the state a lot of money but it's their only chance so they don't care.
We really need to show up for this one.

(3,266 posts)He had dinner at French Laundry while the former President was telling folks to inject bleach. I have eaten there and even paid for it once. It hurt to pay that check but not as bad as injecting bleach.
A half a percentage point of the population left California last year. These would be Republicans who in California commonly identify as Libertarians-because who wants to just shout I am an asshole! Enjoy your new Nirvana in Texas!
