wanting to attend another baby shower. Obviously, they aren't stealing their gawdawful expensive gifts so this is a bit off track from the OP. That said, I bemoan the way that they laud over others and some gather to deride and mock those who can't afford the best strollers, the best cribs the best of everything--not to mention who had the most extravagant gender-reveal stunt.

I'm done. I will try to offer support and my ability to "gift" to those who behave like decent humans. If that makes me a crotchety co-worker/colleague, well, tough. Invite me to the shower for the low-level employee who makes the least and is struggling to get by--fearing her pregnancy will send her family over the edge financially and who are grateful for each and every gift and bit of help. No $1600 strollers there. But no rude sanctimonious mocking of others either.

I had saved since I was 10 yrs old babysitting and working.
Needed the car to drive back and forth to college.

Now this is the price of a baby stroller.
