San Diego District 1 voters have until Tuesday to vote in special general election
SAN DIEGO Tuesday, July 1, is the final day to vote in the special general election being held for San Diego Countys First Supervisorial District.
A total of 13 vote centers will be open in the district Tuesday, including the Registrars office. All will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the County News Center. Officials urge people to check the list of voting center locations on their ballots before they head to the polls because the locations of some have changed.
District 1 residents who are not currently registered to vote can conditionally register at any voting center and vote provisionally through July 1.
The special election is being held to fill the San Diego County Board of Supervisors seat left vacant after then-Chair Nora Vargas announced she would step down. Vargas won reelection in November but decided not to serve a second term.
