SF: Early Voting Begins Monday For June Primary Election

San Francisco residents will soon be able to start casting their ballots for the primary election on June 2.

The Department of Elections announced Friday that the U.S. Postal Service has started mailing out ballots to registered voters. More than 500,000 ballots will be delivered, with each packet containing a two-card ballot, a return envelope, and voting instructions.

On Monday, 37 ballot drop-off boxes will open around the city and be available 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on Election Day. A map of the box locations can be found at https://www.sf.gov/return-your-ballot.

Those who send or drop off mail-in ballots will be able to track their ballots during mailing, signature verification, and counting. Voters can select the "Track My Ballot" tab at https://www.sfelections.gov/voterportal or get updates via text, email, or voicemail by visiting https://california.ballottrax.net/voter/.

Normally, I'll mail my ballot in about two weeks from Election Day. This year, with so many candidates running for governor, I'll have to spend more time checking their positions. Some offices, like Congress, I'll be voting for the Democratic incumbent. Many of the down ballot offices, such as judges, I'll see what our County Democratic office recommends. One thing is for sure, it will be a straight Democratic ticket unless there is Democrat who is a nut job then I'll leave that on blank.
