Pratt (R) says he doesn't need 'anyone's endorsement' after Trump backs his LA mayor bid

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has brushed aside a possible endorsement from President Trump, saying national politics has no place in local elections.

“I don’t need anyone’s endorsement but mothers’. That’s who’s getting me elected,” the former reality star told NBC News on Thursday. “My race is a local race. I don’t care what’s going on in the national politics, in other states. I am running for a local position.”

The president spoke favorably about Pratt less than two weeks before the city’s June 2 primary, telling reporters Pratt is a “big MAGA person.”

“I’d like to see him do well. He’s a character,” said Trump.

or idealogical. Sometimes, it needs to be about pot holes, sidewalk filth, bureaucratic friction, etc.

I don’t see him winning, though. It’ll be a low turnout election. And by the time you take city employees and their kith and kin voting in block for the status quo, they’ll far outnumber the newly engaged Pratt voters.

The majority doesnt want someone new on the political scene. See Donal J. Trump.

I expect the media to call the race pretty early.

The only unknown is whether Mayor Bass get enough votes to avoid the run off. And if she doesn’t, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Raman decline to push forward.

I like candidates that have done the small work and made their career in public service. I like people who understand the people they serve.
