https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025/02/10/dc-area-winter-storm-forecast-snow-map-timeline/
The second significant snowstorm of the season is poised to strike the D.C. area Tuesday into Wednesday. The Capital Weather Gang continues to predict 3 to 6 inches, although amounts could be a bit higher south of the Beltway.
The snow will probably begin Tuesday in the early to midafternoon in the Beltway area and a little before that in locations to the southwest. Conditions may rapidly deteriorate during the afternoon and evening rush hour, and its advisable to be off the roads before then.
The worst of the snow will probably occur Tuesday night, when visibility will be low and many roads will become covered with snow.
The snow should wind down during the predawn hours Wednesday, but many schools will probably close, and government operations may also be altered.

Residents across the D.C. area are bracing for another round of snow as forecasters are warning the region will see several inches of fresh powder come Tuesday.
The National Weather Service said Monday that a winter storm watch would be in effect from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning as snow totals could range between 4 and 6 inches. The heaviest snowfall is expected between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
The agency urged D.C.-area residents to be alert and cautious as road conditions could prove hazardous and impact the Tuesday evening commutes.
7News First Alert Senior Meteorologist Brian van de Graaff told WTOP snow would develop in a southwest to northeast direction, with higher snow totals more likely to accumulate across the south.

Which is extra exciting on snowy days in the DC area for people who live far away.
