Total COVID-19 deaths for Polk County: 488....Orange County: 408

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/coronavirus-us-cases.html

One more data point: total deaths for Hillsborough County is 586.

Just amazing. Orange County is a MUCH bigger county than Polk, but has 80 fewer deaths (as far as we know).

Hillsborough County is a very large county, and it is only 98 deaths "ahead" of Polk.

Population figures (2010 census)

Hillsborough: 1,229,226
Orange: 1,145,956
Polk: 602,095

Is it because Polk has so many older retirees ?

With a lot of uneducated idiots that live there. Note - I grew up in the county seat of Polk County though I left for a much bluer Leon County as soon as I could. Yes, I am biased against the county.
