Glad he is okay, but I really wonder what he was actually doing there and if the story about the cash is true. Republicans always turn out to be secret pervs. I checked Google maps for this store. It's in a separate building from the liquor store (NOT adjacent) and there is another business between the two. Smells fishy that he would park so far away. This isn't a dense urban area. The comments to this article are HILARIOUS!

A Georgia Republican lawmaker is in recovery after he was robbed and shot at an adult cinema parking lot while he was carrying thousands of dollars in cash.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that State Rep. Gerald Greene (R – Cuthbert) is now recuperating in his own home after being treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg that he incurred during an armed robbery.

Greene claims that he had parked outside of the Foxes Cinema in Columbus, GA because he wanted to go into an adjacent liquor store.

Greene also claims that the thief — whom he described to police as “a male about 5 feet 5 inches tall who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants” — only took his iPhone and was apparently unaware he was carrying a sackful of cash.

As for the money itself, Greene says that it was collected donations to help victims of storms that had ravaged Southern Georgia over the past weekend.

In more ways than one. Sack of cash which was collected to help storm victims and I am hanging outside of an adult cinema but actually was headed toward the liquor store and I was robbed - but perp only took my cell phone - not the cash. Sure I believe that. What's not to believe?
