For the second time since breaking his hip a month ago, former President Jimmy Carter taught Sunday school at Maranatha Baptist Church in his hometown of Plains, Ga. this weekend.
Addressing an audience of approximately 500, the 94 year old used his scripture lesson to discuss a topic he is intimately familiar with: Iran.
I agree with President Trump on his decision not to take military action against Iran, he said. I had a lot of problems with Iran when I was in office.
Carters remarks came just two days after President Trump said that he called off a strike on Iran ordered in retaliation for Irans having shot down a U.S. drone. Trump said he did so after being told that 150 people would likely have died in the attack.

(7,142 posts)The entire story was Kabuki theater to make Trump look presidential.
For example; all Trump had to do to avoid the 150 casualties was announce when the missiles were going to be fired.

(116,695 posts)some people are interested in Jimmy Carter and his opinions, especially in light that the hostage rescue mission in Iran was a factor in his defeat in the 1980 election. This was also Carter's second church appearance since he broke his hip.
Sometimes there are things that are more important than politics. I'm grateful that Trump stumbled into making a correct decision even if I despise him personally. I think that President Carter has that same feeling of relief.

(7,142 posts)I have a problem with the headline I guess. Carter didn't exactly praise Trump, he said he agreed with Trump not to bomb Iran.
I disagree with the way the M$M reported the events, and former generals agree that Trump's narrative is not believable. Trump is using the M$M to play realty TV to look presidential and his games could lead us into war.
