Atlanta begins New Year with Sunday Alcohol Sales!

I might just have to go out and get some today just because I can! Happy New Year!


"Ready to raise another toast to the new year?

That should be a little easier for residents of Atlanta, Kennesaw and Smyrna starting at 12:30 p.m. today, when Sunday alcohol sales will become legal in those cities.

The cities were among almost 50 metro-area jurisdictions whose citizens voted overwhelmingly in favor of buying booze on Sunday in a referendum on the Nov. 8 elections. Statewide, 128 cities voted and 105 of them said yes, according to the Georgia Food Industry Association."

Georgia has finally entered into the 21st century and dispensed with those blue laws.

I'm not a big drinker, it's more Separation of Church & State that I'm celebrating- Ga just got a little more Democratic!

I went out and bought a six pack on Sunday to commemorate the day.

My polling place is in a local Baptist church. I found it delicious that I got to vote "Yes" on Sunday alcohol sales there, of all places.

I do know we have customers lined up at the checkstands around 12:15 pm on Sundays. They come straight from church in their Sunday best.

6. 1 more year before i can buy alcohol, alas I am only 20

i cant really enjoy the law yet, past that i plan on never drinking alcohol, tried the stuff once when i was 12 Communion wine watered down hated the stuff, never again.
