Cherokee County voters receiving election mailers from Virginia, officials say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Some Cherokee County voters are receiving out of state election mailers, officials said.

Officials said some voters are receiving mailers marked “Election Notice” and “Time Sensitive: Immediate Action Requested” from Alexandria, Virginia.

The county said the mailers are going to voters who moved out of Virginia or voters who are deceased.

“While this doesn’t appear to be fraudulent action, we have notified the State Board of Elections and the Secretary of State’s Office. Additionally, we would like our residents to know how they can legitimately register to vote and check their voter registration status,” said Elections Director Anne Dover.
