But based on the news reports there seemed to be no direct evidence against him. It did not seem to me that the state proved their case.

from the news reports, I agree with you, but the State's case must have been much more than was leaked.

this eventually gets overturned because of the unorthodox "hearsay" law Illinois passed, apparently for this very case. To allow such hearsay in evidence is an incredible departure and IMO a very slippery slope. That said, I'm glad he is out of circulation and hopefully authorities can secure evidence to convict on his last wife's murder.
