Corruption in Illinois & Our County State's Attorneys

Illinois is arguably the most corrupt state in the country.

One reason?

State's Attorneys in Illinois are embedded with the county's political machine which put them there. Complaints against their cronies are dismissed, ignored and lost.

As I think you're referring to State's Attorneys, that is, attorneys who are employed by the State, counties, and other governmental jurisdictions, I suggest you edit within your post to upper case 'S' for clarity. (I was admitted to practice in Illinois, haven't practiced there for many years, and I suspect you're not referring to plain old attorneys practicing in Illinois.)

According to CountyLeaks' profile, this person works alone and doesn't get paid. Covering all the corruption would be impossible.

5. Ms. AG just had the 7th circuit slap her hard, and now,

after a coalition of 14 state AGs around the country agree with and endorsed what the 7th did, the USSC just accepted the case. It will be THE case on labor law as it relates to age discrimination.

After all, putting a memo that says, "Get rid of the old white guys" is not exactly something she wants for her governorship or presidential runs.

6. If you're talking about the Levin case, didn't the 1st, 4th, 9th, and 10th Circuits go the other way

Or is there another 7th Cir age discrimination case that you're referring to?

If I were a betting person, I would bet on the Supreme Court upholding whatever 7th Circuit case is under consideration.

8. It is the Levin case.

I have been following it for a while. Fascinating discovery results. I never head of a defendant never preparing their employee-witnesses for their deps before. Or claiming that something they dug up the day before was the reason for his firing 2 years earlier.

As I age, I have high hopes for this case.

7. I'm concerned about some of the actions by our IL AG

Why was she in such a hurry to settle the Steidl/Whitlock lawsuits? Why didn't she want this to go to trial to expose all the wrongdoings? Is this reform? How will this change Illinois?
