You should be ashamed.
Because for ideological reasons you have refused to expand Medicaid, I remain uninsured, despite Obamacare. I have a history of heart problems, and had a heart attack six years ago. Union Hospital in Terre Haute had to eat a large bill because I was uninsured then too. If I have another heart attack, I will be better off if it kills me, because the bills will surely eat up all my retirement savings, leaving me with nothing to look forward to but a lifetime of poverty.
I have a college education, which I am now supplementing with skills (paralegal) at Ivy Tech to make it more useful. When I finish, I will be seriously considering leaving if this state has not gotten its act together on this issue by then. Denying me health coverage tells me this state does not value me as a citizen, so why should I stay?
This state cannot afford to lose educated people like me. It has one of the lowest percentages of college graduates in the country. Lack of health care coverage is one reason why.
