Barber shop chatter

I was in my small town (pop: 10,000) Indiana old-school barber shop this morning, the kind of place with hunting trophies as the chief element of decor and FOX on the TV (though this morning it was the local affiliate's news then an Andy Griffith rerun).

A customer sat down and asked whether we were aware of the laws Pence signed on deer hunting. One barber weighed in on a new law none of us were aware of that will allow the use of high-powered rifles for the first time this fall. "Too dangerous." He noted that this had previously been proposed as a regulatory change and widespread opposition from hunting groups led the DNR to shelve the proposal. "Those bullets will carry a long way. Someone or something is going to stop them and it won't be deer." The customer agreed, saying someone is going to die, then explained he had in mind the law giving the OK to canned hunting. In the end they agreed that it was all about a chance to make a buck and derided the canned hunts as pointless exercises. "It's like fishing by scooping the fish out of a fishbowl."

The discussion then proceeded to the necessity of removing Pence. "Is Gregg running again? I think he might just win this time." Basically they'd lost any faith in Pence.

This could be a good November
