Gov. John Bel Edwards and Delek's United States President Uzi Yemin announced a $150 million expansion Thursday at the company's refinery in Krotz Springs, which the company says will directly create 30 new jobs, with average annual salaries of $90,000.
At a press conference held at the refinery's recreation center, Edwards announced Delek's investment, which will come as a series of projects at the Krotz Springs plant over the next five years.
Edwards said the investment is expected by Louisiana Economic Development to generate 48 additional permanent jobs in the area. He met with Yemin during his economic development trip to Israel in October, and praised the investment on Thursday as another positive outcome of the trip.
"I know that seems like it might have been a long time ago, but thats actually very, very quick movement as these projects go," Edwards said. "Thats why Im so thankful to be here today.
