Cenla Votes: Voter registrars expect high voter turnout for Nov. Election
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Voter turnout for the November election is expected to be high, according to voter registrars in Central Louisiana.
The November 5 Election is now less than 50 days away, with key races on the ballot in Louisiana that include the presidential and congressional races.
In October 2023, the states gubernatorial race saw a meager turnout, with only 36% of registered voters submitting their ballots. However, voter registrars from four Cenla parishes said a high voter turnout is expected for the November election.
As of September 16, 2024, there are over 143,000 registered voters across Avoyelles, Grant, Rapides and Vernon parishes. In Avoyelles Parish, 23,643 voters are registered for the November election. Grant Parish reports that 13,058 voters are registered. In Rapides Parish, there are 81,654 registered voters who can vote in the November election. Finally, in Vernon Parish, 25,459 voters have been registered.
