Lake Charles mayoral race headed to runoff
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The race for Lake Charles mayor is headed to a runoff between Nic Hunter (R) and Marshall Simien (Ind).
Saturday’s results are complete but unofficial from the Secretary of State’s Office.
Hunter garnered 47 percent of the race, with 6,663 votes, while Marshall Simien had 29 percent, or 4,051 votes.
Wilford Carter Jr. (D): 18% (2,590 votes)
Khalid Taha (R): 4% (504 votes)
James Steward (no party): 2% (314 votes)
