BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Southern University law professor Kelly Carmena was suspended Friday over comments she reportedly made on social media in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death, the WAFB I-Team confirmed.

The university states that it is now proceeding to terminate her employment as an investigation into her conduct commences.

In a post shared with WAFB, Carmena allegedly said, “I will 1000% wish death on people like him. He is the epitome of evil, and I have no compassion, not even a minute ounce of it for people like him who go around spewing hate the way he does.”

Southern University Board Chairman Tony Clayton confirmed the investigation.

Either there’s a First Amendment or there isn’t. With that, we have to accept when the other side does this.

Kirk was shot because he was exercising free speech and now the right is calling for people to be fired for exercising their free speech.

If you aren't the right color or have the correct social standing or belong to approved groups, those people need to shut the fuck up.

It's fun when you call them on it. The look of dissonance is amazing.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

It does not apply to non governmental entities like Southern University

It's better to remind people of what a hate-monger Charlie Kirk was. Use his own quote that gun deaths are an acceptable cost to protect the fifth amendment.
