Dzhokhar Tsarnaev wants life a secret
Laurel J. Sweet Thursday, October 29, 2015
Dzhokhar Tsarnaevs lawyers want to block prosecutors from learning anything about his activities in solitary confinement at Supermax the nations toughest federal prison according to new court filings.
The documents unsealed yesterday reveal that on Oct. 13, four months after Tsarnaev was sentenced to death for the Boston Marathon bombings, Assistant U.S. Attorney William D. Weinreb demanded access to Tsarnaevs Bureau of Prisons records.
The records in question are not privileged, confidential or work product. They are, on the contrary, records that are routinely obtained by prosecutors either automatically or upon request, Weinreb argued. Tsarnaev is essentially asking this court to apply different rules to him than apply to the other 200,000-plus inmates in federal custody.
Tsarnaevs lawyers countered that who Tsarnaev meets, speaks with and writes to remains privileged and confidential defense information.

(135,425 posts)1. Good luck with that.
His lawyer-client communications are privileged, but we're paying for his rent, food, heat, hot water, etc. We're his landlords--we have a right to know who comes and goes. Prisons do keep records of these sorts of things. They also open prisoners' mail. There is no expectation of privacy; he'll just have to deal with that.
Get over it Dzhokhar...and smile, you're on candid camera, ya murderous basstid.

(7,623 posts)2. This evil man deserves no special treatment. People died because of him.
I don't care if he spends his days banging his head against the wall. He deprived so many of life or limb. He should have no rights that are not given to any other person in solitary. I doubt there are many people who would by sympathetic to him.
