Eaton County pushes for more early votes weeks before election day

EATON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - With the presidential election just 40 days away, a lot of voters are opting to cast their ballots sooner rather than later.

Advocates for early voting say it removes barriers and makes voting more accessible.

Eaton County Clerk Diane Bosworth says voters in her county liked the idea of voting early and having their ballots go through a tabulator.

She’s expecting an even bigger turnout in November.

“What I expect is that early voting is going to allow us a more smooth Election Day because with more people voting early, either by absentee ballot, by mail, or by coming into one of these early voting sites; it will help the lines and the smooth running flow on Election Day,” she said.
