Michigan woman, 43, fatally struck by 3 vehicles in Bedford Township; first driver sought


(Detroit Free Press) A 43-year-old woman, Erika R. Todd of Erie, was fatally struck by a moving car while walking along Smith Road in Bedford Township. After being hit once, Todd was struck two more times by two other vehicles late Saturday night.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's office, Todd was walking eastbound on Smith Road, near Telegraph Road, in dark clothing. While walking along the shoulder, she was struck first in a hit-and-run. Police have not identified the first vehicle's driver, and the make and model are unknown. The vehicle fled from the scene.

After being hit once, Todd was in the the eastbound lane and struck again by a 65-year-old woman in a Honda Accord, and once more by a 19-year-old woman in a Nissan Sentra. Both drivers stopped and have been identified and released by police. ...............(more)
