"Proud to again be recognized as the #1 most effective U.S. Senator for my work delivering for Michigan " (Gary Peters)

Received this email this morning from Sen. Gary Peters

Friend ––

My number one focus has always been getting things done for Michiganders. And I’ve found that building relationships based on trust, respect, and compromise, with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, is the key to delivering on the issues that matter most to Michigan. Collaboration is one of my guiding principles – and I will work with anyone – regardless of party – to solve the problems facing our state.

That’s why I’ve been rated the most bipartisan Democrat in the Senate. And just last week, I was honored to be recognized as the most effective U.S. Senator for the third Congress in a row by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking, the first U.S. Senator in more than four decades to earn the #1 spot three times in a row.

This past Congress, I wrote twenty-five bills that were passed into law, on everything from supporting Michigan manufacturing, to protecting our Great Lakes, to strengthening our national security — including bipartisan legislation to establish a Northern Border Mission Center at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Macomb County. I also authored and passed bills to protect burial benefits for military families, give firefighters and first responders the resources they need to keep us safe, reduce confusion for disaster relief applicants, and more.

I’m proud of how productive the last two years have been, but there’s more work to get done for our state. So please know that I’ll keep working every day to deliver results for Michiganders.
