Somehow I cannot imagine this ending up any differently that it did here. I know a lot of people from Michigan and sadly most of them are Trumpers but I would guess at least half of them would vote to keep abortion in their state. I bet it is likely Michigan goes Pro Roe! Just a guess.

(37,849 posts)I am pretty confident that we will have our reproductive rights enshrined in our state constitution come November. This ballot proposal measure got a record breaking number of signatures. Also, women are pissed (and so are a lot of men)!

This proposed constitutional amendment would:
- Establish new individual right to reproductive freedom, including right to make and carry out all decisions about pregnancy, such as prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion, miscarriage management, and infertility;
- Allow state to prohibit abortion after fetal viability unless needed to protect a patients life or physical or mental health;
- Forbid state discrimination in enforcement of this right; prohibit prosecution of an individual, or a person helping a pregnant individual, for exercising rights established by this amendment; and invalidate all state laws that conflict with this amendment.

(23,758 posts)A bit of proofreading by some fourth-graders would have exposed the typographical weakness before producing the signature forms.
THERUNONWORDSINARTICLEONEWEREOBVIOUS. Fourth-graders would have laughed at them.
Anyway, now we have a good ballot that should draw many voters to the polls.

(23,758 posts)It still should have been discovered by proof-reading. Article 1 could have been switched from all-caps to mixed-case and it would have been more legible.
Thanks for posting that.
And, GOTV!
