It was a breathtaking display of disdain for Michigan voters, who require this sort of information to make sound choices, and it's valuable insight into Dixon's character, and the practices she'd bring to the governor's office.
Dixon is struggling to position herself as a foil to Whitmer ― Dixon wants voters to see her the working mom who feels the economic and social pain of Michiganders, not the high-handed governor who, in Dixon's telling, inflicted it. Dixon desperately wants to win this race, and her extreme anti-abortion views simply aren't acceptable to the vast majority of Michiganders, who believe abortion should be safe and legal. So she's dancing as fast as she can, hoping voters won't notice that the music is about to stop.
