Dear Friend,
Right now, you might be finalizing your Thanksgiving weekend travel plans, defrosting your turkeys, or prepping a pumpkin pie or two. Amidst the holiday festivities, I want to take a moment to express how thankful I am to serve as governor of the great state of Michigan.
Every day, I am inspired by Michiganders I meet. We are a state of hardworking people: from our auto workers leading the industry into the future, our teachers inspiring the next generation of Michiganders, to our small business owners bringing prosperity to our communities.
Perhaps what I admire most about Michiganders is their commitment to supporting and uplifting one another. This Saturday, I encourage you all to do just that by participating in Small Business Saturday. Whether you have some holiday shopping to do or just want to grab a treat for yourself, please join me in visiting your favorite local shops.
It is my honor to serve as your governor. Best wishes for safe travels and a cozy, joyous holiday weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving!

(35,756 posts)I'm thankful for our Secretary of State, Attorney General, the newly-blue legislature, and our blue MI Supreme Court. I'm also thankful that my representative, Elissa Slotkin, was re-elected. And I'm thankful that so many of my fellow Michiganders said enough is enough and threw the Treason Party from the halls of power in our newly deep blue state.

(11,873 posts)I hate winter in Arkansas. I can't imagine wintering-over in Michigan. If the species had evolved to live in such a place, we'd have fur.

(11,873 posts)There are several DUers in Arkansas, so it can't be too bad.

(17,046 posts)I would offer up Kim Reynolds. She's old, she's mean, she's corrupt, and she hates everyone. Heck, she wouldn't even be in office if she hadn't had her second DUI covered up....
Oh, wait....I guess that would be a bad trade for you guys.

(11,873 posts)Sarah is too stupid to be corrupt. She is only the usual GQP level of mean and she only hates Democrats.
I'm betting Sarah will be in favor of the swap. She hasn't really been an Arkansas native since college. She thinks the Arkansas Governor's Mansion is a stepping stone to the White House. Iowa would be a better fit for her - what with your importance in the Presidential primary.
I suggest the trade occur at noon on December 31 - the day before Sarah takes office - at Fischer Farms Pumpkin Patch, Mokane Road (left bank of the Missouri River across from downtown) Jefferson City, Missouri. I'll be wearing my "Huck No" t-shirt.

(17,046 posts)I really hope that our importance in the primaries is done.
I am sick to death of organizing caucus night in our town. It is a lot of work for zero reward and most people don't have a voice because they don't have the time or inclination to show up on a weeknight for a three hour meeting.
But, I'll meet you there and we can swap. Kim is a pretty tiny woman, so I know you can handle her, but I think she bites and I'm not sure she's had all her shots, so wear gloves.

Happy Thanksgiving.
