MN-AG: Ellison gives statement on re-election run
The statement is below:
“Minnesota is in an unprecedented moment. The President of the United States is tearing apart families and terrorizing our communities. Defending our state as Attorney General is the most important thing I have done in my career.
Walter Mondale once told me that out of all the jobs he had in his career, serving as the Attorney General of Minnesota was the best he ever had. I feel the same way. This office has given me the legal authority to take on powerful interests on behalf of Minnesotans, all in the name of the mission that I have built my career on – Afford Your Life.
We’ve lowered the cost of insulin to $35, fought price-gouging by greedy corporations, helped those being crushed by medical debt, and held opioid companies accountable. We’ve protected tenants and workers from exploitation, seniors from scammers, stood up for student borrowers, and held greedy corporations accountable when they screw over Minnesotans.
The work we have done in my office is one of the great honors of my life.
