Minnesota Republicans propose to withhold federal funding unless state hands over voter rolls to Trump

The legislation introduced by Rep. Pete Stauber would withhold federal election funding from Minnesota until the state shares voter data with the DOJ.

Minnesota's four Republican members of Congress are supporting new legislation designed to force the state's election officials to turn over private voter data to the Trump administration, withholding federal funding if it doesn't.

Rep. Pete Stauber introduced the Minnesota Voter Integrity Act of 2026 in the U.S. House on Monday, with Reps. Tom Emmer, Brad Finstad, and Michelle Fischbach as co-sponsors.

If passed, the bill would allow the Trump administration to withhold federal election funding from Minnesota until the state shares voter information requested by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Trump administration is suing election officials in Minnesota and at least 19 other states who have refused to provide voter roll information, including the full names, dates of birth, residential addresses and driver’s license numbers of voters.

And he seems to be helping himself lose. The 8th is not a solidly Republican district.

This man only has his seat in Congress because of his family name and a change in the district boundary. He has accomplished absolutely nothing in three terms. A total zero!
