Flexsteel Industries to close Starkville facility

https://www.starkvilledailynews.com/flexsteel-industries-to-close-starkville-facility/article_8e0aeb62-8a2a-11ea-8d1d-9393d02002fb.html

Some bad news for the Golden Triangle, and unfortunately probably the first of a lot to come

Multiple sources have confirmed that Iowa-based furniture manufacturer Flexsteel Industries will permanently close its facility in Starkville on Industrial Park Road.

The company made the announcement this week as it also revealed it would close its manufacturing hub in its hometown of Dubuque, Iowa. Flexsteel said both companies could close as early as June, but plans could move forward sooner.

In a statement provided to the Starkville Daily News from Flexsteel Industries corporate office, the permanent closure will impact roughly 170 employees in Starkville.

According to the publicly-traded company's third quarter earnings results, which were published Wednesday morning, Flexsteel suffered a third-quarter net loss of $5.3 million.
