Recall Frank White effort has enough signatures to force election, election board confirms

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Supporters of an effort to recall Jackson County Executive Frank White turned in enough valid signatures to force a recall vote.

The Jackson County Election Board confirmed the information on June 30.

In April, Tammy Brown, the Republican director of the Jackson County Election Board said the group needed to turn in 42,902 verified signatures to put the recall effort on the ballot.

Brown said the county charter indicates the threshold be calculated as 20% of the number of registered voters who voted in the last election in which the county executive was on the ballot.
