Stanton board of education sets special election for $28 Million dollar bond
STANTON, Neb. The Stanton Board of Education has officially scheduled a special election for Nov. 4, seeking voter approval for a $28 million bond.
In three of their four meetings, Stanton Public Schools held open public meetings to unveil plans for upgrading their elementary school, addressing key issues like outdated infrastructure and educational needs.
Since 2020, the district has already replaced bathroom sinks and toilets, entry doors, upgraded to LED lighting in the old gym, fixed roofs, and repaired concrete, roofs, and modular buildings.
Due to ongoing issues with outdated structures, the schools aim to tear down old modular buildings, relocate two houses on the property, construct a new gym and school that is more handicap accessible, add more classrooms, improve security, build a storm shelter, and install all-new appliances.
