Councilwoman Denise Ridley Joins James Solomon's Slate in Re-Election Bid
Councilwoman Denise Ridley announced that she will seek re-election for a third term in Ward A in the upcoming municipal election as part of Councilman James Solomons slate.
First elected in 2017, Ridley has focused on housing, education, and small business development during her tenure. She currently serves as chairwoman of the Bayfront Redevelopment Advisory Board, where her work has supported initiatives such as free summer camp for low-income families and economic revitalization efforts on Ocean Avenue. She also serves as Council President Pro Tempore, vice-chair of the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency, and sits on the board of the Jersey City Economic Development Corporation.
Ridley has also led efforts to strengthen fire safety regulations, add parking spaces in Ward A, and push for a recreation center in every ward. She has introduced legislation on vaping restrictions, lithium-ion battery sales, and support for Black-owned businesses.
I am running for re-election because Ward A families need someone working for them in City Hall, Ridley said in a statement. Running on James Solomons slate, I know we can deliver for Ward A and ensure we have affordable housing that helps longtime residents, more opportunities for our kids, and revitalized main streets.
