Community First Democrats host voter registration and outreach event in Kingsbridge
The Community First Democrats, a grassroots slate of local political candidates and community organizers, hosted a voter registration and outreach event on Saturday, April 11, at 231st Street and Godwin Terrace in Kingsbridge.
Organizers engaged with dozens of Bronx residents during this event, which ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This initiative was intended to connect with unregistered voters in the area, regardless of voting preferences or whether or not they lived in a different district or borough.
Among those on hand to assist the Community First Democrats in the effort were Democratic District Leader Candidate Izaiah Zeek Barrow, Bronx 81st Assembly District Leader Re-Elect Abigail Martin, Field Coordinator Carolina Valenzuela, Campaign Coordinator Miles Harris and State Committee Member Candidate Bereket Ghebremedhin.
The primary focus of the voter registration and outreach event was to meet people where they are, provide them with access to information and encourage them to participate in the democratic process.
